From hot rod to bent valves



tooling about the internet I found this gem of a picture.

There is a story about that.
Maybe its a simple as a poor attempt to save a few $$ by installing the timing belt by a guy who had never turned a wrench before.
Or maybe someone found out the true redline for his engine.....just a hundred rpm before this happened.

20 valves = 4 x 5 cylinders...Audi maybe? Or did the valves in the rest of the cylinders survive?

I was thinking maybe a six-banger---
5 cylinders had 3 valves, and one cylinder had 4 valves.

Maybe one of them escaped through the exhaust. The others weren't so lucky.
