Detroit Deja Vu
City Journal has an interesting article on the decline and fall of the british auto industry and the obvious connection with Detroit.

Sounds pretty accurate, time to let the U.S. auto industry die already.

I totally disagree. Leyland, as far as I can tell, didn't have international partnerships to share and leverage new systems and technologies. The big three now do and are finally discovering that platform sharing can be a good thing. And getting rid of that fool Wagoner was one of the best moves ever. Industrialists (whatever those are) do not always pick and cull the best leaders. For many reasons, even if just for national security, we need to keep domestic vehicle manufacturing and technology. By that I mean businesses that are NOT controlled by Europe and Asia.
