WTF? Chris Mattews calls USMA the "enemy camp"?

I can't get to the video of this to see what he actually said, but if in fact he said any such thing is just an indication of what an IDIOT this person is. The professional officer corps of the US, fed largely in part by USMA, is and has always been just that; the professional officer corps for the US. It supports the NCA and always will.

As a retired US Army officer, I find what Matthews said so offensive that I am apoplectic. Just because lttle Chrissy thinks that most USMA cadets have different political views of the POTUS that it is an enemy camp shows how low lefties (with bad ratings) will go to insult the tradition of the career of arms. He needs a good ***** slapping, because that is just what he is for saying this.

The Army Officer Corps supports the chain of command, no matter what the officer's personal beliefs are. To think that a group would do otherwise is to impune treason.

He's a wise ass but he's no dummy. He just apologized for and clarified those remarks.

It was a poor choice of words but any pol reputed as a lib/lefty is likely to have fewer allies at West Point than a hard core Rr hawk. Eisenhower was the first I know of to give the concept a prominent mention.

Glenn Beck recently wondered what gave Pres. BHO the right to think he could stand in the way of "the Generals."

The demon Stephen Colbert skewered him with the footage:

Urban myth.

I imagine there were a few incidents of rude behavior here and there regarding soldiers returning from Vietnam. I never witnessed it and I don't know anyone who did.

But you show me evidence that some media outlet of any substance at all condoned spitting on Vietnam vets.

Vietnam? Why don't we argue abut the Spanish-American war while we're at it?

Beck & Colbert are jerks....I can assure you that "the generals" will do exactly what the POTUS tells them to do. It is their responsibility to assess the situation as they see it from a warfight position, and advise the NCA of what they find.

Colbert is far above Beck in mental acumen. He's a smart ass no doubt but quick on his feet.

The generals will do the right thing but don't count on Rr pundits and pols to know what the right thing is.

I'm not surprised that BHO would get a cooler reception at WP than Bush did. Hawkish young men are going to regard Geo. W. Bush as the coach who will put them in the game and BHO as the guy who is going to lead a discussion on whether or not this particular game should be played.

We have civilian leadership of the military in this nation for a very good reason.

The point is that it's not relevant to anything going on in the world during this century.

I doubt there any S-A war veterans still living. Most Viet Nam era vets are still with us. That's just for starters.

It still has nothing to do with current events.
