I'm moving to Colorado...or Nebraska.

I saw this graphic awhile back, but the numbers have grown since then.

yep spreading from classic conservative strong holds like CA and NY and overcoming the liberal middle in places like TX. Horrible!

Only because the "average joe" needs a couple jobs to afford livin' here. Lose one job and then it's hard to afford the daily SPAM, but you aren't technically "unemployed."

If I was in charge of an agriculture program at a college, I'd use it as a visual enticement to get people interested in farming and ranching. Seems that is the segment most immune to unemployment at the moment.

However, unemployment figures are always prefaced with the fact that they're showing nonfarm employment.

In CA the loss of ag jobs is part of the problem. we are in an artifical drought caused by the fact the aquaduct pumps were stopped do to the delta smelt, a fish. so now they are trying to rebuild the aquaduct system, but they have no money because the have no money, because half of the state has no water.

In CA we are not only loosing part time seasonal ag jobs, but also year round employment, that feeds off the farmers, think tractor supply store, are taking the hit.
