Flaccid Firefox Fails Forum Testing

After recently upgrading to FF 3.5.somethingsomething, I started having lots of loading issues with Ebay, C-list, and all my forums.

Total pain in the asterisks. Went through all the help offered by them, changed settings... nada.

SO I downgraded back to 3.0something and I retained some of the features of the upgrade but no longer have the loading issues.

just a heads up.

**updated** see post #21

Yeah... they don't make it easy to find the previous versions either. I think i found it on their website... Cnet does not have it.

B.C. - is the version you are running called 3.0.xxx?

Yes, I believe that it is 3.0.15. Works fine but has a tendency to absorb resources over the course of one week. Starts out at about 100mB and absorbs up to 350mB where is begins to slow the machine down. Must shut it down and restart Firefox.

I should try clearing the cache...........I cannot believe the cookies are the problem..........I really don't want to clear all them out..........a PITA to start over with passwords, etc.

You can select to KEEP the passwords intact and clear everything else.
Cookies and Passwords are two different things. The first one "remember" the pages the second one keep the secured access.

That is child's play! I've had firefox 3.0x using up to 1.3 GIG of ram....the point it collapses on itself and crashes the browser depends on the capability of the PC....firefox 3.5 seems to have improved the resource hogging quite a bit.

I currently have 3 separate browsers with about 4-5 tabs open in each, and they've all been open about 1.5 weeks....and its only using 228MB right now.

I've only had 3.5 crash once on me so far, and it was on a huge blog with too many youtube videos linked to it.

Sounds like a lot of people on here need to migrate to Win 7 + latest browser.

IE8 works pretty well too.
