William Kunstler: Disturbing the Universe
That's the title of a new documentary film produced by his two daughter's Emily and Sarah. It is currently showing in about 25 US cities and will be broadcast on PBS's POV series in 2010, sometime between April and September. Well worth seeing if you are interested in the law, justice, and defense of the individual against the state. I first saw it at the Denver Film Festival and took my wife and daughter to see it tonight when Sarah Kunstler was answering questions about the film. It combines a history of Kunstler's legal life with the point of view of the two children from his second marriage, the first being born when he was 57. It follows some the important civil rights cases of the 60's and his role in the trial of the Chicago Seven trial and his defense of AIM after they took over Wounded Knee. It also recounts the tragic events that occurred at Attica State Prison.
