Park anywhere you want?

just saw this on ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/New-Wheel-Boot-Lock-for-Parking-Enf-Tractors-Police_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQhashZitem588288536dQQitemZ380147094381QQptZMotorsQ5fCarQ5fTruckQ5fPartsQ5fA ccessories#ht_4394wt_1014

So, you carry one of these in your trunk, and some old parking tickets. Then you just park anywhere you want, throw the boot on, slap those tickets under your wiper and you are good to go!

It would not work in San Francisco

The Denver boots there mean BUSINESS. And look a *LOT* different too.

I took this pic last Christmas, in Noe Valley, of this newish looking Ford Focus, that got one courtesy of the SF Dept. of Parking and Traffic. It costs hundreds of dollars to get rid of one, after 6 or more unpaid parking tickets.

Friend got a ticket for exceeding the 30 mins so he thought he was safe. Came back and saw another one and the cop writing a 3rd. Seems like they can write a ticket every 30 mins. Seems like each 30 mins, the clock goes back to square 1

I'd still drive away with that thing on, ala Homer Simpson. Meh.

That's a nasty bugger. Look at that spike waiting to puncture your tire if you even try to move. If they put that on my car I'd grinder it off regardless of consequences as a matter of principle.

I remember reading a post on a website about a guy who got booted in a parking lot. He managed to remove the tire and put on the spare.

Pretty funny in my opinion. Here was the article
http://hackaday.com/2005/02/24/hacking-a-car-boot/

And another!

There was a involved and quite humorous tale of a resident of a HOA (there is it again) controlled development that moved his booted car from the street to his garage on dollies. If you search for "Arizona Parking Solutions" you can get the whole story.

Wow! Principle? What principle? That you got nicked for doing something you SHOULD NOT have and don't like the consequences? That must explain why jailbirds are trying to get out of prison by breaking out. Principle.
