Anyone Familuar With HP Laptops?

I hope someone can give me a second opinion on this. I have a HP Tx2 Touchsmart laptop. It's 64bit with an AMD processor and I am running Windows 7. it has 4GB ram etc. I just Upgraded to Windows 7 and I ran the CD that says Run this before running the operating system. What it did was check my programs to see if there was anything incompatible (there wasnt) both software/hardware. It also Flashed my BIOS to a newer Version then I had installed, Here's the problem. my computer will hibernate randomly. When you turn it back on it says the computer was put into hibernation because BIOS had detected a high temperature, I run this computer only on hard surfaces, when I got the computer I also added a Rubberized spacer to the rubber feet giving the computer a larger Gap and let it cool better. when this happens I've had my hand near the Air vent and warmish air is flowing out, but it's not as hot as my XPS 1730 was, nowhere near, the base of the computer is also cool to the touch. I've contacted hp's Support about the issue and their soloution is to Restore the HDD back to the previous state that it worked on... but to my knowledge there's no way to go back as the bios was flashed and thats when the problem started.. I've never tried to re-flash a bios to a lower version before, I dont even know if it's possible let alone advisable. Can you think of anything that I could have missed or should I cut my losses and have to reinstall vista?
the computer is about 4 months old.

To sum it up basically
Bios Shuts down thinking the computers too hot.
the computer is cool and is cooling fine with only warm not hot air flowing out

Go into the bios and reset the max temp threshold.

Cant, There's no temp setting in the bios, thats the kicker.
