I like guns...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-TC2xTCb_GU

Good song!

I'm taking my pistol class on the January 10th, so the 11th I'm buying a pistol.

So far I have narrowed it down to four, need to fire to figure out which one I'll get first:

Glock 21C
Sig P220
HK MK 23
Kimber SIS

Right now I'm leaning towards the HK because I was holding one in the store and it seems pretty badass.

Were you able to fire these to see how they feel in your hand?

H&K USP any time go for Compact in 40"...The best there is For me anyway. I know that MK 23 is very expensive new but for me the Compact is the ideal balance.

Have you looked at the Springfield XD's? I'm pretty happy with my older model XD40.

I have a rather interesting selection at hand ranging from a Kel-Tec 380 to a Taurus PT1911. An important consideration is what you will use it for- If it's concealed carry, you need something smaller, but if you're doing open carry than a big gun is just fine. If you spend a lot of time at the range, you need to find a gun that fits your hand and also won't cost a fortune to feed. Reloading is a great thing, and an easy way to save a ton of money as well as appreciate your gun more.
A lot of people go after the lightweight polymer frame guns, but those can be a pain to shoot, literally. The light weight doesn't absorb the energy of the recoil very well. My wife's Kel-Tec is difficult for me to shoot since it's so small and I have big hands. My Hi Point 380 is about the smallest I can easily shoot, and it is still easily concealable.
Make sure you get at least a decent fire safe to keep your handgun/s and ammo in.

Typically, if you wait until that time or reason, it will quickly pass and you'll really wish you had been prepared. Common sense should take the lead, and check the policies of the places you frequent, but again concealed means concealed, and if you do it right nobody will ever know you are armed.
The whole point behind concealed carry is to hope you never need, but be ready if you do.

So do I . Absolutely love them. I would apply for my conceal weapon's permit if I wouldn't be expelled for having a pistol in my room.

The funny part is I'm a proud registered democrat
