Wow. Yes, you probably did miss out. I paid more for mine, but the incredible amount of work done to it is what had me sold. Repair costs could pile up fast if it was on its original head gasket, wiring harness, and throttle actuator. All the repairs and maintenance set the previous owner back over $10,000 spanning 5 years a 30,000 miles.
