The local fish monger has brought in oysters for the holidays. I'm finishing off some Bluepoints (Long Island) tonight. I like them on the half shell neat; they really taste like the ocean.

I'm not completely aware of all Lon Gilan dialects, but it might be 'Blue Pernt Ersters".

Sorry to hijack your thread Chas. I just got off the phone talking with this gal from Oyster Bay. She has such a funny Lon Gilan voice that I just smirk every time I talk to her. I've been perfecting my Lon Gilan voice just for her so we'll see how well she takes it!

All kidding aside, the first meal I made for my now wife was a carpetbagger steak:

2 Strip Steaks cut thick
Pint Oysters
2 Slices Bacon
Blue Cheese

Cook bacon in frying pan.
About halfway thought he bacon cooking, add Oysters and Garlic.
About a minute before they are done, add 1/2 cup of blue cheese.
Cut a deep slit in the steaks, divide mixture and stuff.
Cook under broiler until desired doneness.
