The salt of the earth

Pat Robertson and Rush Limbaugh told us today how much they care about the misfortunes of Haiti.

It's like a bad-taste SNL bit (back when SNL was funny). You have to really wonder if these clown believe this stuff or if it's all just theater for them?

kerry 01-13-2010 10:04 PM

I think he must seriously believe it. If he didn't how could he keep a straight face when stating it?
I used to be a volunteer at CBN back in the 70's. Even if Robertson himself doesn't believe it, there are tons of CBN employees and watchers who do.

Its the " Finish this joke " section of the program.

Tonights joke starter...

Pat Robertson and Rush Limbaugh walk into a bar....

Billybob 01-13-2010 10:18 PM

Was there anything inaccurate about Rush’s stated opinion? Haiti’s contribution to human race has been what? The loss of potential contributions will affect humanity how? Will billions of more tax dollars poured into the rat hole that is Haiti ever give a return on that investment?

Maybe the last great democrat president Bill Clinton should have changed the US policy of denying Haitian refugees political asylum and should not have increased foreign aid to the corrupt military government in order to keep Haitians in Haiti? Haitians who make it out of Haiti usually do pretty well!

So not jumping on the human suffering cause celeb flavor of the week is bad? How is prolonging the suffering of populations, who for generations can’t feed, house, cloth, or advance themselves do any good? Isn’t this just one more example of liberal do-good-izm-its futility in the face of un-stoppable evolutionary forces?

The Dear Leader does not look at every available circumstance as a political opportunity?

Robertson's comment was rather stupid. Rush's didn't seem mean-spirited to me. Then again, I always like to read what the author is trying to say:

If you were wondering who would be so cynical as to suggest that a president would use a monumental tragedy to gain support amongst a group of voters who already overwhelmingly support him--to the tune of 89 percent who view him favorably, natch--well, now you have your answer.

89% view Obama favorably? In which country?

Well then, according to Limbo and you we should just sit back and let nature take it's course in Haiti. You're also the salt of the earth.

it would pretty much have to be the bar from star wars.

Jeeeeezuz.

The Clk Man 01-13-2010 10:27 PM

Here is my opinion on this. Robertson is an a-hole, Rush is an a-hole. Both are using the extreme to try to prove their points. Read the Bible, think about it. Make your own decision. As a believer in the the Lord, I don't need fanatics to ruin what I know that I believe.

INAPPROPRIATE

I would support the relocation of ALL Haitians to the United States. Helping them stay in a land that clearly wants to kill them is ENABLING. Give Haiti back to nature.:)

Can't you do something to get these two kicked out of the club, they're making you all look pretty silly. ;)

That would be interfering with God's plan to punish the Haitians for their pact with the devil. We should help out the Lord by dropping a nuclear bomb on Port au Prince.
