What did the President know and when did he know it?

Did Obama know and when? What do others think about these circumstances? Let's discuss this.

On Sunday Robert Gibbs was asked by Chris Wallace “When was President Obama informed of the decision to treat Abdulmutallab as a criminal rather than an enemy combatant”. Gibbs evaded and did not answer that question.

We now know that a mere 50 minutes after coming into custody someone decided to treat Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab as a common criminal rather than treat him as an enemy combatant, dictating that he be Mirandised; that the four top security officials in the US government had been neither contacted nor consulted and the Whitehouse press secretary will not answer the question “What did the President know and when did he know it?”

The over arching question is, was the decision to shield the Underwear Bomber Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab from interrogation by security/intelligence officials made solely by the terrorist cell leader mole leading the US Department of Justice Eric Holder or was this decision made in consultation with the Overseas Contingency/Man Made Disaster Commander in Chief President? We do not know!

The question is further complicated when one considers the false statement made by the President in his first public comments 71 hours after the suspect had been Mirandised and was no longer cooperating with FBI investigators, when he referred to Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab as an “isolated extremist” at 4:30 into the video

If as the administration still contends, that all the valuable information was gleaned in the first 50 minutes including the statements reportedly made by Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab regarding his participation along with AAP how can the statement refereeing to Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab as an isolated extremist be anything other than false?

Did unelected Eric Holder go rouge and usurp the command decision power of the elected President of the United States in a moment of crisis and indifference by the vacationing Obama? The failure of Robert Gibbs to answer that very simple and direct question is more than curious!

”It has been a month since Umar Farouk Abdulmutallab nearly killed 289 people on Flight 253. In the weeks since the Christmas Day attack, we've learned some very disturbing things about the Obama administration and terrorism.

We learned that the director of the National Counterterrorism Center, Michael Leiter, whose agency is responsible for pulling together pieces of intelligence to prevent attacks, went on vacation the day after the attack. We learned that the top White House counterterrorism adviser, John Brennan, told him to go. We learned that the White House's initial view of the botched attack -- from Janet Napolitano and Robert Gibbs -- was that "the system worked." We learned that President Obama still believed the attempted bombing was the work of "an isolated extremist" three days after the attack, despite a wealth of evidence that Abdulmutallab had been sent by al Qaeda in the Arabian Peninsula (AQAP). We learned that Brennan was surprised that AQAP was capable of attacking the United States. We learned that Napolitano was surprised by al Qaeda's "determination" to hit the U.S. and stunned that they would send an individual -- not a group -- to conduct an attack. We learned that four top U.S. counterterrorism officials -- Leiter, Napolitano, FBI Director Robert Mueller and Director of National Intelligence Dennis Blair -- were not consulted about whether to treat Abdulmutallab as an enemy combatant or a criminal. We learned that a proposed "high-value detainee interrogation unit," or HIG, does not exist one year into the Obama administration. We learned that Blair, the nation's top intelligence official, thought that it did. We learned that Abdulmutallab was read his Miranda rights less than twelve hours after he was captured. We learned that the FBI interrogated Abdulmutallab for just 50 minutes before he was told he had the right to remain silent and chose to exercise it.”

How is this unlike anything else that the administration does? The specifics of the operation are rarely disclosed, and the details that are disclosed are convoluted to shed positive spin on the administration.

You can ask all the questions in the world about the operation, but all the answers are sheer speculation.

I've got a burning question as to the specifics of how GWB got whatever snippets of intelligence that he needed to conclude that Iraq has weapons of mass destruction. Do you think I'll ever get the truth on that?

I still want to know about area 51 and what they have there. Don't even get me started on Roswell.
