I just bought a 1:43 scale G-Class model from a local hobby store and decided to look up the company that made it. I was very impressed with their selection of 1:18 scale diecast models even if they are a bit pricey. They have a 1:18 scale C126 and it looks to be top notch quality but I have yet to find anyone who makes the W126 in 1:18......
Out of curiosity does anyone know who makes the models that Mercedes sells through their classic catalog? ![]() ![]() http://www.autoartmodels.com http://www.autoartmodels.com/product.web.ViewProducts.do?field0=pd.brandId&key0=29&orderBy=ps.rank,pd.productCode,pb.brandNameEn&sortDirectionStr=1,1&st=make.title

No 126 Sedan, but the Coupes are nice... that got me thinking, maybe they have a 123 coupe that would make a nice gift for my Uncle.... NOPE! shame. I'd buy them both!

AutoArt really is artwork. Amazing details. I have a pair of w123 die cast (1:18), a 240D and 230E, both from Revell I think. Not that detailed as the AutoArt ones, but cool nonetheless.

I'll admit that they are heavy on the 190s but no W124s? They had two (Including one that is the same color as my car
![]() ![]() ![]() )![]() Maybe if enough of us complain they will release more of the models that we want

While not die-cast, the models in this presentation are pretty good. As you view these, remember that all cars, and buildings are models.
About the only problems I see are that some of the window trim is too thick on a few models. Otherwise, pretty awesome: http://www.flickr.com/photos/24796741@N05/sets/72157604247242338/show/with/2346008881/

Yea Autoart does make some nice stuff, I have some of their race cars. If you think they are pricey, check out exoto. they have some insane detail.

Just checked out Exotos site. While they are very detailed I find that their selection is quite limited (Mostly race cars) Also their prices are quite steep. I'm composing an email to send to Autoart about the possiblity of doing a 1:18 scale W126 or W123. Anyone other requests?

1/43" diecast Mercedes Benz models (Minichamps & Paul's Model Art)
I've been heavily involved in picking them up mostly in 1/43" either from visits to the Mercedes Benz Classic Center USA, which carries them, or from ebay Germany for about 10-11 years now.
Pauls Model Art is the same thing as Minichamps, and occasionally the US Mercedes Dealers have a limited selection of current models. One or two of the "Niederlassung" dealers (Mercedes Benz "super stores") I think in Frankfurt or Hamburg still make them available on Mine are almost all the older ones. I think by now I must probably have about 100 of them, in their cases. Nothing as new as the W220 or newer, though. So many of those, it is hard to even keep track of them, the C, G, R, ML, etc. Typically they cost about $29-$45 USD. Plus shipping... I have, I think, out there in the garage quite a few rather unusual ones, that were sold in Germany only. Such as the 420SEL, W123 sedan and wagon autobahn "Polizei" models, I recall, and selections from various postwar body styles, such as the fintail, ponton, R107 and W113 SL variants, W116, W123, W124, W126, W210 and W140 ones, it was a nice collection, last fully displayed, pre-divorce in a lighted case in my San Francisco home. Now they are boxed in the garage, up here, someday to rise resplendent again. I would love to get them out of there and display/post pictures. A few S class 1/43 sedans are sold at a premium, with a particular model diorama featuring a particular German chancellor with the model of the S klasse he rode around in at the time, such as Helmut Kohl with the W126, Willy Brandt and his. It would be cool to have the whole postwar set. Maybe someday.
