I know from a medical standpoint that a hangover is a mix of crazy dehydration and ethanol withdrawal.

So, orange juice and beer?

I'm pretty sure there's an electolyte imbalance in there also.

I read a medical book* recently in which an alcoholic patient died suddenly, only a few minutes after completing a phone call, and the phone was found right next to the body. She wasn't very old and other than being an alky had no known medical issues. The autopsy revealed no cirrhosis, no cardiomyopathy, no abnormalities of any kind. The patient had been on a bender and had been drinking a lot and not eating much if anything. Turns out alcohol makes your body get rid of certain electrolytes. Potassium is one and in this case, the patient's potassium level got so low that her heart stopped.

i usually hang a bag of saline and mainline some zofran

being a medic has its benefits

Yeah I think we did meet. I recognize your car more than your user name. I'm better at remembering faces

I think from a medical standpoint restoring fluids and electrolytes will eliminate a hang over.

I always drink water before bed though. Tends to solve the problem

Unknown, there haven't been that many beers produced in the history of mankind.

Ahh to be young again. I need to go camping this summer and go on a nice binge.

I miss the days of waking up and popping open a beer to fix the hangover.

X2 on the O2 with the non rebreather, but it only helps until you stop, then you're back to square one again, and I only have one bottle in my personal med bag. The only thing that works for me now is time. It sucks to get old- I used to be completely immune to any consequences of excessive drinking until I turned 40 and then the hangover bill came due with interest!

Don't get drunk on wine, you will hate yourself the next day. Wine hangovers are BRUTAL!
