If you saw Sunday's Free Press that shown Robert Bobb the emergency financial manager for Detroit Public Schools, move Mark Twain to Boynton which have three times the number seats then students and was one of the reason's he gave for closing school to many empty seats.

I think this is why Michigan is in the state we see every day. A Mayor who defrauds, steals 8 million that he doesn't pay back, gets caught hiding money, his mother indicted by a grand jury, his father indicted by a grand jury, $ 14 million in school payroll sent to " ghost" bank accounts....

No wonder things are falling apart.

A few years ago, one of the candidates for the presidency of the college where I teach was a school superintendant from Michigan, Flint I think. From his resume, his central skill was quite clear; he knew how to shut down schools.

I actually liked the guy because he was a no-nonsense Asian who even talked about Confucius in a public forum. But he scared too many people off with a slip of the tongue about family ethics, which people took to be an anti-gay comment even though he clarified himself.
But in any event, he was not a good fit since he was used to controlling a school district whereas our faculty are pretty comfortable with controlling themselves. We weren't looking for a good emperor.

Dr. Felix Chow

He was one in a long line of skool administrators who managed to turn the Flint School system from excellence to disasterous over a period of 40 years.

In all fairness though, by the time he got there, the damage had already been done. He couldn't have saved the Flint school system, even if he had been competent.
