Appears to be an pseudo "Auction" type ReCycler

'Some real Junk and maybe a few Treasures.

(Photography very vague...no purchase decisions to be based upon)

They are tempting for project cars. I wouldn't blindly bid on anything, would head out to the local yards before throwing any money at it. Just wondering if anyone has had good/bad experiences with the bidding process, what they got, etc.

My best friend in high school, his step-dad loved copart, he builds hot rods for a living, and would buy some of his cars there. When I was a freshmen his mom showed up to pick him up in a w124. she had always wanted a Mercedes, so his step dad got 2 124s from copart and built her a 124. I remember him telling me the car cost less then $1000 and that was in 1999, when the 124 was still a high dollar car (alot higher then $1000). Her 124 was one of the nicest I've ever seen because my friends step dad did the paint himself, and the interior. He is a great car builder, normally pre-war Fords, but it was very cool to see him take his had to a w124.

pictures of some of his recent work

I've been at the local Copart salvage pool on auction day...lots of car haulers, lots of wholesalers and other professional buyers from several adjoining states. Good stuff goes for high dollars, be careful that you don't overbid.

They are just an auto insurance salvage pool. Laws vary from state to state about who can enter and bid. It some states anybody can attend and in some states you have to have a salvage or dismantelers permit.

I know a fellow who owned a wrecking yard and he bought there all the time for his yard. But he never bid online; he always went to the auction in person so he could look at the cars up close and see if they were something he could sell.
