Are you talking about the Dept of Education or the Dept of Energy (normally called DOE)?

Have you seen the security at any DOE (energy) nuclear facilities since 9/11? These guys probably have tanks and anti-aircraft weapons hidden away someplace. Without going into detail, the private security at commercial nuclear plants is also "extensive." Plenty of government agencies have weapons.


I have no clue what the Dept of Education is up to these days.

Unless things have changed since I went to high school, they're probably equipping substitute teachers with a kevlar vest and a Glock 17.
