Climate is warming, no ice in Polar regions...
The Arctic ocean is warming up, icebergs are growing scarcer and in some places the seals are finding the water too hot, according to a report to the Commerce Department yesterday from Consul Ifft, at Bergen , Norway . Reports from fishermen, seal hunters and explorers all point to a radical change in climate conditions and hitherto unheard-of temperatures in the Arctic zone. Exploration expeditions report that scarcely any ice has been met as far north as 81 degrees 29 minutes. Soundings to a depth of 3,100 meters showed the gulf stream still very warm. Great masses of ice have been replaced by moraines of earth and stones, the report continued, while at many points well known glaciers have entirely disappeared. Very few seals and no white fish are found in the eastern Arctic, while vast shoals of herring and smelts, which have never before ventured so far north, are being encountered in the old seal fishing grounds. Within a few years it is predicted that due to the ice melt the sea will rise and make most coastal cities uninhabitable. From the Washington Post, November 2, 1922. |

Until people can look at and at least attempt to comprehend ANY data related to global warming without ANY political bias whatsoever. Making any statement of fact regarding it, is pretty much pointless.
No matter what facts are presented, someone with the other party stand, is going to balk at it simply because it came from “the other side”. i.e. It’s all BS just because the mouths or the ears are on the heads of the other party. That, I find to be the greatest crock o' BS of all.

Perhaps now is a good time to look into bulk home storage- If I recall, one of the things that kept the Great Depression going was the dust bowl, starting in about 1930. Droughts, and topsoil just blowing away, nothing could be grown in the breadbasket areas.

Global Warming is bad? Well, that depends on who you ask....
For the first time in human history it is now possible to sail from Europe to Asia via a Northwest Passage route. This cuts about $500,000 off the cost of tranversing the Panama Canal and by making the trip about 5 days shorter. This route is only open about five months out of the year, but during that time no Icebreakers are needed to make progress. You gotta' look for the silver lining..... |

Cruising World has had some good articles about guys trying to do just that. I think last year roughly 30 boats made it through the Northwest Passage and that was a banner year. But its hit and miss; some areas will be clear, than ice up. For every boat that makes it, many more give up or end up being iced in for the winter.

Topsoil just blowing away due to American greed. Any drought was actually a minor factor in that mess. You should check out a book titled Dust Bowl: The Southern Plains in the 1930s by Donald Worster. Interesting reading on the subject.

You are the same guy who posts that you don't need to read what others say to know it's incorrect. Not quite a scientific mind set now is it? |

It'll be difficult to dispute their eyewitness accounts but they were definitely wrong in their prediction for sure.

Got a good laugh out of that one when I saw the date below it.
Geez, sometimes you HAVE to laugh and find the humor in some of this stuff to keep from going nuts.

Wow just one liberal wants to touch this one, and that guy refuses to look at links but knows they are BS. Wish I had that power, lol. It's indicative of many things on both sides- when you reveal something that's not good for either side they ignore it as you find it difficult to 1)Defend your point of view with the new info. or 2) Ignore it and hope others will not find it either. Does not matter if its a leftie or a rightie bringing the point out.

I didn't ignore you at all. I merely said that what you posted says NOTHING on the topic. And it doesn't. This is NOT new info. |

Never said a thing about it being BS though. So you must be talking about someone else. BTW - You left out: 3) Ignore it because it came from the other side and thus must be BS.
