Removing Chrome Fender Trim
Hi I am trying to remove the chrome fender trim that is on my 280ce. Problem is, is that is riveted on. So basically how do u remove the rivets ?? Thanks for all the help !

I have the same question
but I am curious how you remove the chrome trim along the side of the W123 bodied car.
thanks, |
I wish I knew too, as my 124 has obvious sheet metal screw (or rivet) holes along each fender lip, left from the removal of the chrome trim by the previous owner (or dealer).

Hi,
So what's the reasoning behind removing the chrome? Anyway to get through the rivets you need to drill through them and that should free them off. This is assuming the rivets are on the roll over portion of the arch so that the rivets are hidden. |
I'm with vickrai. Why remove it?
Have a great day, |
Some folks find them to be a tacky assessory item...I guess the same was done to my car to make it more sellable (especially since it was already shod with chrome rims).
I am thinking of getting a set and reattaching them at the same locations left by the current rivet holes... |
