4 ayem roll call
1 layer sealant. 1 round aniline dye (medium brown mahogany, for the record). 1 wash coat of 1 pound cut shellac. 3 coats of 3 pound cut shellac.
Twin Brother (of Darling Wife) completed One Hell of a Box in which we shall bury Ma on Thursday. It is up to this humble servant to make The Box sing. Finishing in progress, The Most Amazing Cafe Owner & Seamstress Ever (aka Joanie) lined up to provide the proper tie-dye innards, and a few pictures taken along the way. Which will be posted, once the camera battery is re-juiced. Figure I've got another dozen or so layers of shellac to add. Lots of hand rubbin. No small amount of tears to be mixed in as we go. Working to a deadline is a *****, but it surely causes one to focus. The Box goes to Joanie Tuesday PM, to the funeral home Wednesday AM. Ma (who has apparently been visiting Joanie's cafe this week, keeping the young civil war widow who wanders the stairwell company) gets interred Thursday. Current head count has ~ 40 or so folks descending upon our humble abode for a proper Irish wake Thursday afternoon. Already told my boss that the party ain't likely to be done before Sunday, so he ought not count on me to be at me desk before Tuesday. |

Something I could never foresee ever saying, but, I'd love to see the pics of the casket when you're done. I'm sure it will be a fine testament.
I'll raise a glass in Ma's honor on Thursday.
