Chain link fence question

The fence is maybe five years old, I went with the lowest bidder. Parts of the top bar are split, the pic shows the worst area. I removed the surface rust, what should I do next to prevent it (galvanized) from re-rusting?

Cold galvanizing compound AKA Spraygalv.
That's an odd failure, did it fill with water and freeze?

Yeah I think water got in there, cheap pipe, I guess.
This is an area where I'd rather use a brush, I'll try and find some cold galvanizing compound.
