The new wheels lend themselves better to the; custom steering wheel, spoiler, and exhaust pipe.

The previous smooth edged wheels looked fine to me.

It's a sharp looking car nonetheless.

What's your thought on the steering wheel?

I have not installed my Nardi in my 84 280SL, I'm having second thoughts about how much it will block the instruments. I'm 6'1" and the stock wheel already blocks my view, but the Nardi would also get the wheel off my lap....

That's the reason I bought one. At 6'2 the stock steering wheel was too large. Now I'm fine.

From the side (like in my signature) the stock wheels looked fine. The problem was the high offset that set the wheels too far in to the wheel well.

The spoiler is factory... All 500SLs had them.

100000x better than the CLK wheels. CLK wheels are very nice, but something about period correct mods has always done it for me.

I really like the new wheels.

Tyler, your present collection matches mine perfectly... 107 SL, 124 wagon, and 202 sedan. If you ever want to trade outright for the whole lot, mine are in perfect, as new, condition. Yea right.

I got the 202 as my work car in 1999. It now has obscene miles on it. I got the wagon in 1999 when we were expecting our first child and it has been well used in the last 11 years and still carts the kids all over creation. The SL is new to me from 2007 and is now my daily driver.

Maybe it is you who is too large, did you ask the steering wheel its opinion?

6'2 and 160 pounds too large?

My legs are too long, that was the problem.

So wanna come back down, watch me detail, fail, then jump in and do the rest for me? I usually let Joe do that, as you saw, but you know I figured you could have a hand at it.

Looks really good Tyler, much better then the old rims. Definitely makes me want to get mine fixed and installed...

...after the motor mounts and oil cooler lines of course.

I did wonder about those too.

Everything on that car looks great especially the steering wheel.

Are the amber lights add-ns? or were they part of the AMG package (I kinda doubt that, but don't know fer sher).
