Wheeler Dealers : Cossworth

I saw this on the tube the other day. It's a British show where they take a older care, do some basic work on it and turn around and sell it.

5 parts.

Wheeler Dealers

I've seen that show on HD theater...Its kinda cheesy and they do really poor work to the car to get a profit, not unlike a lot of dealers.

That Cosworth appeared to be in good shape. I did not like to see the suspension leveling disconnected and wondered why the wheels were not repainted since they replaced the tires. Those are things I would have performed rather than putting a new stereo in it.

Overall it is an interesting show.

I think you're being pretty harsh.

They're taking some interesting Euro vehicles that are close to being discarded and doing some relatively simple repairs, then reselling. In the process, telling why these classics should be appreciated.

In this case the 190E Cosworth was bought for all of 2700 pounds (about $4100).

I'd love to see them do Foose-style restorations, but that's not what the show is about.

And Foose's show can be pretty cheesy in its way.

I would rather see them crushed than subjected to "Foose-style restorations."

Linky please. I just watched the 5 part episode and thought they did a good job. I especially liked it when the main dude gave the mechanic a miniature version of the real thing.

wow i was going to post this but you beat me to it!

What surprised me was that Mike wanted to keep the car vintage, including the SLS suspension, but the mechanic disabled the system and put in shocks and springs. The CD player looked cheese too, I would rather keep the tape deck and play music from my blackberry using a cassette adapter.

I like the show owever, but suprised at some of the shortcuts taken to save a nickel but lose some integrity of the cosworth. i would love to drive one BTW.

I've seen every episode of that show haha.

While some of the stuff seems pretty "jank" like spray painting a lot of stuff, be honest, its stuff we all do in the privacy of our own garages, we're just so used to watching foose spend $25,000 air brushing everything.

Wheeler Dealer is a sham. They never include the cost of Edd's labor, which on some cars is substantial, in the final reckoning.
I still watch the show, just to see what those Brits are up to.
