Right wing paranoia officially gets out of hand....

GA Woman To State Judiciary Committee: DoD Implanted A Microchip Inside Me

You debate an odd bill, you hear some odd testimony. But this...

The Georgia House Judiciary Committee took up a bill last week that would "prohibit requiring a person to be implanted with a microchip," and would make violating the ban a misdemeanor. According to a report in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, one exchange from the hearing could have been ripped right from Dr. Strangelove.

The Journal-Constitution reports that things started getting weird when a woman who described herself as a resident of DeKalb County told the committee: "I'm also one of the people in Georgia who has a microchip." Apparently no lawmaker took this as a warning sign, and she was allowed to continue her testimony.

"Microchips are like little beepers," the woman told the committee. "Just imagine, if you will, having a beeper in your rectum or genital area, the most sensitive area of your body. And your beeper numbers displayed on billboards throughout the city. All done without your permission."

"Ma'am, did you say you have a microchip?" state Rep. Tom Weldon (R) asked the woman.

"Yes, I do. This microchip was put in my vaginal-rectum area," she replied.

No one laughed. State Rep. Wendell Willard (R), chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, asked her who had implanted the chip.

"The Department of Defense," she said.

Willard thanked the woman for her input, and the committee later approved the bill.

She sounds like your basic nut case, which does not always imply "right wing."

There was a Republican mentioned so therefore it must be so. Of course, if the Rep had shoved her out the door as a fruitcake, well...... With him, anything bad is Rep based and anything good is Dem based. Very simple equation.

Ah, that would be the GOP Lege committee officially approving the bill, officially letting their paranoia get out of hand ......

You should be outraged, it seems to me they would have better things to spend the state's money on than this ridiculous tripe, I thought you were all about that. This "microchip" thing has been working it's way thru the GA lege for months, and it ain't Democrats pushing it thru. Do you deny that this is just plain nuts?

I will tell you that the DOD has done studies regarding micro chip technology for use in tracking individual troop replacements and for medical purposes on the battlefield. However, I don't think this woman is/was a lab rat for those studies....just another tin foil hat wearer. Most DOD studies involved chipped cards or dog tags, although some of the more esoteric medical purpose studies involved implants to determine BP, temp etc. mostly for SPECOP troops. this poor soul most likely read about this somewhere on the internet and became "infected"

I agree she seems like she is nuts--but without the political bias you seem to eager to assign.

I'm not asking you about her, I'm asking about the GA legislature members. Aren't you outraged they are wasting taxpayer money on this baloney? What's next, the Georgia Rapture Propulsion Act?

Were you outraged at the CA Anti-cussing act?

A military person told me a few years ago about the chip study.

He said the chip thing was first looked at as being implanted in a tooth. Then the injured soldier could be easily scanned by medical people since everyone's teeth are in the same part of their body.

But not everyone has good teeth, and teeth fall out, so that really did not work.

So where can the chip be placed so that it will be easy to access and not be subject to being destroyed along with the soldiers' body part it was implanted into?

Nowhere. But research continues.......

There is also the concern that an enemy might think the chip contains a GPS device so each soldier captured would have it cut out of his body; very likely under less than surgical conditions.

This sounds interesting on the surface but fall apart pretty quickly when considered in full.
