IP thing. Somethings odd...I think.
The mention of IP addresses in the “Banned” thread got me to thinking.
So... I found one of these on line IP search programs and put in the IP address that comes up with the details of one of our email addresses. I’m finding it odd that it shows as a city north of Ft. Worth when we actually live many miles further N/NW of there. I do know that we have two rental properties in that city. Have had internet accounts set up there in the past, and that the guy who set up all of our internet accounts here is from there. (Spooky thoughts cross my mind.) Our accounts are through Verizon. Have been for some time. I know that they are big down there. Anyone here have any thoughts on this? I’m no computer guru, so I’m just finding it a tad odd.

It depends on the locatoin of the server that's handing out your IP addresses. Probably at verison's NOC in that location.

Verizon's server is probably in that city north of Ft. Worth. It could be anywhere.
Your actual IP address will also point to a city. If you live in a small town (like I do), your IP address will likely point to a neighboring city. |
