I get sad when I see a "pimped out" mercedes

does seeing huge chrome rims and blacked out headlights on a classic benz make anyone die a little bit on the inside like it does for me?

Yeah I admit I don't like seeing it much. I've been considering having the wheels polished on the S coupe and I can't help but think maybe I should have them refinished instead.

Ugh. No no no...eww. Mercedes is CLASSY! "Pimpin' Out" such a classic-looking car is ridiculous. Might as well cover the car in pens and drive it around like that..

With huge chrome rims, definitely. I've seen some with some modern wheels that I kinda liked but I wouldn't consider those bling.

The blacked out thing doesn't bother me as much. But I'm no purist.

Nothing wrong with chrome, but it must be done tastefully. Chrome AMG's that suit the vehicle I believe can be done. But not throwing 19/20" pepboys bought rim...

ie my wagon. 17" Monoblock II's. I personally wouldn't go with anything else in regards to chrome on the w124.

Its about the same feeling I get when they're rusted beyond repair.

Practically ANY car looks like trash with oversized rims and tires so thin they look like strips of rubber. Not to mention the safety factor - ie, hitting a good pothole and not only blowing the tire but smashing up the rim as well.

Four years back, my parents finally sold off their '88 Chevy Caprice they'd had since new. Seems they''re quite popular for pimping out with certain members of the younger generations. A few months later, NO dropped back by their house and sure enough - huge chrome rims with spinners and rubber-band tires. IMHO, the car looked like crap.

awesome monoblocks. see, those are passable because they match the vehicle and are (i think) period correct. id still take the normal monoblocks over the chrome though. looks too flashy to me

I think the 126 AMG with AMG wheels and blacked out lights look good if I'm in the right mood. But that's the only MB I can say that for.

Personally, I like my 14"s... They limit the amount of curb damage I can get with daily parallel parking, actually kinda want to get some slightly taller tires to completely eliminate it, the rims are still 0.5" lower than the curb.
