haven't seen a teenager yet that at some point in their teen years did something totally stupid. and, all of us were teenagers at some point and probably did something stupid. is that deserving of an electrocution?

concerning tasers, it has been PROVEN that a percentage of the population will suffer either permanent heart damage or death as a result of being tazed.

most police departments require police trainees experience a tazing. the trainees are asked to sign a liability waiver. why is that?

It’s something like .2%. And something like 99% of those had either preexisting heart conditions or were already spooled up on drugs.
Perhaps I should look into the actual numbers. But I think I'm not far off.

and prior to Tazers, some of the police departments used pepper spray. and that resulted in some deaths as well. someone needs to develop a method so that they the ability to subdue an individual safely. I understand they have developed bean bag guns that will knock someone down but not permanently injure them.

in days past, a motto was seen written on the side of Police Cars:

"To Protect and To Serve". as I'm sure most are aware, that motto has been REMOVED. it appears the motto has been changed to "Shoot First, Ask Questions Later", a doctrine that tends to harm the innocent.

Alfred Hitchcock was once asked if there was anything he was afraid of. since the guy had created some of the most frightening films in history, one might think he was not afraid of anything. but, even Hitchcock had his fears.

he said the cops scared the H out of him because they have a license to KILL.

nothing wrong with punishment fitting the crime. but look at this situation. the kid didn't launch onto the field packing a 12 gauge shotgun, did he? he's swinging a towel around and running, probably a bit crazed due to what my mother called "raging hormones". typical of a teenager. no one was damaged, no one was hurt, merely a temporary interruption of the ball game. he caused no one harm. he didn't deserve to be electrocuted.

I believe you are pretty close to the mark with that assessment.

oh the horrors of police.....how can we sleep at night with such monsters lurking waiting to kill us?

Both the Police Chief and the Mayor of Philadelphia have backed the officer's use of the taser in this case. A resonable view imo.

when they kill someone, they are rewarded by being given a paid two to three week vacation known as administrative leave. they shoot you, they get to go home and spend time with the wife and watch cable television. how many are prosecuted for wrongful death? 1 in 10? 1 in 100? not many, that's for sure.


and, the screening process doesn't always weed out those which may be considered mentally unstable. there have been known cases of these types making it through police academy. these are the guys who were turned down for dates by the high school prom queen. nobody gave them any respect while growing up and they see wearing a badge as their chance to get even.

think about that the next time you get pulled over...
