That's a runaway win for Toyota.

The deal could also boost Toyota's reputation in the US, which has been badly hit by a number of mass recalls over problems with faulty accelerator pedals and breaking systems.
Freudian slip?

Sounds like it could benefit both sides.

Didn't I just see another thread with a very similar "can't stop me now" post?

Still, I think it's great. Tesla couldn't make it marketable. Perhaps Toyota can.

Daimler made their investment in Tesla earlier. However, they also invested in Matsu****a (Panasonic) battery technology as well.

PS. Admins, perhaps it's time to change the "bad word" filters to allow words that are allowed on basic cable TV.

Perhaps they should talk to E-Z-GO, they have plenty of experience selling electric golf carts.

This makes sense...Lotus borrows a lot of their components from Toyota--the Elise is powered by an engine from the old Celica, and the new "saloon" (sedan) is powered by a Toyota V6. Tesla's cars are based off Lotuses, so its quite a cyclical deal.

One of Tesla's cars is based off of the Elise. I doubt Tesla will be making many sports cars now that Toyota is helping them out with manufacturing. Not many people really want to buy an Elise with an extra 600 pounds of batteries in it.. I am thinking Tesla will be making some more mainstream cars.
