Toyota Landcruiser Turbo Diesel

This beaut lives near me and I think it's forsale (or was at some point).

RHD, iirc it's from Australia. No rust that I could see. Looked solid and it runs smooth.

Sweet! Needs a bath but I think that would be the ultimate for offroad and durability. I seen one on Padre Island .It was black and white all the bells and whistles the diesel clatter just added to the affect.

The only drawback is the pricing cheapest Ive found was 16,000 ragged out.

Thinking about buying it or just throwing it out there ??

I'm not ready to buy anything now, but for sure in December.

I know where it lives, so I can check if it's still around by then. It was on Craigslist and iirc, it was priced in the high teens. This one looks to be in decent shape. I wonder how the Toyo's start in sub zero temps however?

I would love to drive that to the local Toy 4x4 meeting here - they would drool. Brought my TD Jackaroo once and they had to drool in private so their buddies wouldn't see em.

I likes it!

I don't know about the 'yotas, but the same vintage Nissan SD33 (IH 500 box truck) and SD33T (IH Scout Turbo) we had didn't have any cold weather issues. (Not really apples to oranges, more like Macoun to Gala. )

Buy it, but make sure that you get a spare steering wheel: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkgAZhuC4uM&feature=related

From what I've read, the 3B is a dog... I have an 84 Cruiser with the inline six, which is no powerhouse either, but reportedly better than the 3B diesel.

Those diesel Cruisers are rare and command a good $$. Anyone know how hard it is to find parts for them in the US?

You can find them for under $10k in Australia. They are a bit big and drink plenty of fuel.
At least that one has the steering wheel on the correct side !!!

I used to have one of those, only with the US-Spec Trooper II badges. Fun little rig, and driven right it would hit almost 40mpg. Driven my way, it would still turn 25+.
