Who has used a Windows XP Optimizer?

I recall someone talking about stripping all kinds of programs from Windows XP and using an optimizer.

I'd really like to get some advice on those, especially something that's freeware that I can experiment with.

Thanks

Nothing wrong with XP, It has stood the test of time. They told us to get Vista a few years ago, load of c##p. When the bugs are out of 7 then maybe. I get nervous about any non MS add-ons to the OS, if you have plenty of ram XP is fine with all its little program bits.

Nothing wrong with XP, although this laptop is Win7, no real complaints with it either.
Haven't had any problems, although there are a number of things I am not thrilled about. Mainly a lot of change for the sake of change, not to improve.
Although many seem to be to make it easier for the computer illiterates to run it.

I have XP on 4 other workstations here (one a virtual box).

I run Advanced system care on several, don't think it really improves much but I have these machines fairly well setup. But it does a nice job of cleaning the junk.
Just the free version, although I might buy a pro just to support them.

Defraggler is a nice defrag program, except I don't like it's scheduler, but I rarely run them scheduled anyhow.
