Any Buick Grand National fans here?

Check out the auction I have on eBay (click link on the bottom of this post).

Awesome car that should fetch way more than $10k. I have always been a fan. They were actually the quickest American made cars for a few years. Faster than a Corvette in 0-60 and 1/4 miles.

One word of advice on the Ebay ad....way too lengthy.

The Buick 3.8 was a good motor, it spawned the 3800 motors, of which I am a fan.

Good luck with the sale, the ad is long but no one can accuse you of not giving adequate detail.

If I recall, legend has it that many auto insurance companies ran away from that car when you tried to get a quote?

I love that car!
There was one that was driven around Orlando for a while. saw him all the time on the highway.
I would give him the thumbs up and make believe I wanted to race and he would just smile and take off!

Good luck with your sale

Danny

A good friend of mine's stepfather had (still has?) one. Always garaged, covered. I remember him letting the turbo cool after a run. It was a cool car as a kid. It took a definite second to my American Uncle's Delorean though!

Gawd those are heinously ugly, but it's hard to argue with the powerplant. GM got that part VERY right!

Just got the starting bid, but it's only been a day.
My wife thought the length was unfukkin believeable too (not the first time she's said that, ha ha), but I told her that anyone who is SERIOUS about the car will appreciate the detail. There's just some things about a car like that where you really want "the story" to understand what you're getting in to. The one brother in law who is calling the shots on the price didn't think I should be mentioning "minor" things like the AC compressor seized, etc. I had to lay down the law about disclosing everything about the car, it's MY rep as a seller, not his.

Lol...

I think you're right though about a serious buyer appreciating the detail. Good luck with the sale Gilly!

I wish I had the extra cash...

I always loved the GN. I had a 71 GS and wanted to add a GN to the collection.

They are much faster and classier than the Monte SS or the Hurst/Olds of the same era.

I had a friend who had one back in the day, he turned up the boost to a ridiculous level (I seem to remember him saying 22psi) and it screamed!
He ended up taking the power plant out of the Buick and stuffing into a 240Z!
