I am so glad this car sold, because half way through reading the thread yesterday I said to myself if this thing is still around its mine, thankfully it was sold!:D I fell hard for that cars lines, really hard.

I'm buying another MB after I'm done with the next project. Probably this winter....

I just can't go much longer without owning one....thinking its either going to be an SL500 or something cool and classic from the 70's or 60's.

Phew! I thought this was an anti-punctuation thread when I read the title, but the exclamation mark confused me. ;)

That was a purty one!

My uncles partner has a 50k mile SL I might work on. Just need to convince him to buy a new one so I can get his old one.:D

Are we talking R129 or R230?

Hatterasguy 06-04-2010 03:09 PM

Its a 129, don't know the year pre 1995. He keeps thinking about getting an R230 to replace it.

I have always liked that SL, and want a convertable.

Do it.

Then again I am biased. The R129 is my favorite of the SLs.

TylerH860 06-07-2010 06:18 PM

The R129 is very good and nice examples are getting pretty affordable. My uncle recently purchased a very nice '99 SL500 with 60k somewhere in the 12k-13k range (IIRC). Because he didn't listen to me (not checking if the top worked......... NEVER take it to the dealer for example) he's had some expensive lessons though. ;)

This is on my list:

Silver Arrow
