My Mother In-Laws 75 Dodge in Germany

My Mother In-Law had a 75 Dodge, used it here in Chicago for a few years, then drove it out to CA where they retired near my Sister In-Law.
Bernice passed away about 8 years ago and the Sister In-Law kind of drove it for a while then sold it.
Note that when she sold it, it had something in the low 30k miles.

I was interested, but not especially, just a basic Coronet. 318, Air, Power, bench seats etc.

Well somehow it ended up in Germany, and the kid who owns it there really loves it. He really cleaned it up, and somehow was able to trace it back to my Sister In-Law, he has sent several sets of pics.

Just kinda interesting.

Very cool story!

Thats kind of a generic car to get exported, you'd think he'd be after a hemi satellite or 440 or something.

These exact cars used to be found all over Peru

CKD (completely knocked down) versions, the strippers, bottom of the line trim, 225 cid 6 cylinder, manual transmissions of those exact model Dodge Coronet sedans, were built for years (1969-1978) at an assembly plant in Lima Peru.

Even 10 years ago, the last time I was there, many of them were still plying the rural roads and big cities thoughout Peru.

Many were used as taxicabs, and for trips for Lima into the mountains, they were called "collectivos". Their owners would cram in ab out 6 passengers and stuff all their luggage into the trunk, collect the fare, from each and drive them into the far reachs of the country side.

Here is one of them in Paracas.

In Lima you could buy fuel by the gallon, at curbside gas pumps that looked like robust parking meters.
