What kinda watch do you all wear?

Well since this is open discussion I hope its ok to post this message here.

I was flipping through catalogs and stuff I get from MB and they have these Mercedes Benz watches being sold, like C class, S class, etc. etc. They also advertise them in performance products and "THE STAR" does anybody actually buy and wear those watches?

I am a watch fan as much as I am a car fan, so I participate in a few Rolex discussion boards and a proud owner of the 18k yachtmaster and 18k datejust. I have also recomeneded a few rolex owners to "mercedesshop.com the ultimate MB site". So I will recomend some rolex owners in mercedes clubs to "www.newturfers.com" they are the ultimate rolex site.

I am heir to my Dad's Presidente when the time comes.

I tend to be very hard on wrist watches though, and for many years used a pocket watch instead. Now the $10 casios work fine for me, the watch case dies long before the batteries.

Oh, and I'm still hard on wrist watches.

Hello Mike,

yeah thats one bad thing about these kinds of watches, is the ruggedness of it. like your dads president, if you drop it, scratch it, etc. it hurts.

i wear my yachtmaster everyday, but i gotta take it off if im washing car, moving stuff, etc. one thing i and other rolex owners do is insure it.

depending on your insurance company, it can be purchased for as little as $50.00-$100.00 per year with no deductible, it covers theft, robbery, accidnets, etc. something you NEED on these things. :-)

Any Patek Phillipe owners out there?

I love watches as much as Mercedes !

I wear a Rolex Submariner SS and a Breitling Jupiter Navigator SS as my everyday's. When I travel outside from the US, I take my Mercedes Benz CLK Chronograph with black dial and red leather band. My favorite is a Rolex Oyster Perpetual that I've got from my grandfather... looking on the serial number it was produced in 1941 and sold in Barcelona, Spain.

I wear a silver Skagen with a metallic blue-ish face. It was a high school graduation present, and I love its refined minimalistic lines.

I'm as bad as Mike - I used up about 1 wrist watch a year. Now I use the time function on my cell phone, or my Omega de Ville pocket watch. I like minimalism as well!

There are some fun watches described at this earlier thread as well: http://www.peachparts.com/shopforum/showthread.php?threadid=5737&highlight=watch

Rolex SS and 18k datejust for show. Safety deposit box holds a mint Hamilton 992B and two excellent condition Vulcain Crickets. Without a doubt the Vulcain Cricket is my all time favorite. I do not wear a watch and rely on the time on my pager.

Vintage Elgin tank style watch. Bought new in 19xx with the first money I ever earned and it still runs perfect. Yes you have to wind it. Let see if anyone else wears a watch that old

Ricali:

Thanks for the reminder! 3 or 4 times a year I take out my dad's old Bulova tank to wind and wear! Leather band has been replaced quite a few times, so it has an expansion.

Thanks for the picture, mine is almost identical. The sides on mine are smooth. The leather straps are too numerous to count.

Folex Datejust..
Yup two tone gold/stainless steel..
some people actually thought it was a Rolex.. till I told them.

Neah, that's what I wear when I know that im gonna ruin my watch.

I have a Tag Heuer (two of them), one 1500 series (discontinued) and an automatic 2000 series (old one)..
these watches are so rugged, i love them.. they might not look that cool but at least they dont break.

My prized possession is a Breitling Colt Ocean Chronograph Auto.. (discontinued as well)...
I like the new Breitling Chronomat.. if only I had about $2K.. but since I could get a decent W123 240D for $2K... I think i'll pass..

I'm thinking of getting another Automatic Chronograph.. maybe one of those MB watches.. do they make Auto Chronographs?
or even Quartz is cool.. just to show my thing for MB.. :p

I don't like wearing watches. My Bio-clock runs well, for now.

A little history :

My grand father came over from Poland, He taught himself English, and Watchmaking.
My father, who died in June, was an Aviaton Cadet in the Army Air Corp, went to Waltham Watchmaking School.

He became a Certified Master Watchmaker, and a Certified Gemologist, He owned one of the premire Jewelry stores in this country.

I own a Rolex, the only watch, that does my Father juctice!!!
