Windows 7 was what vista was supposed to be.

Windows 7 is the next version of windows. You should purchase that if you're looking to buy a newest.

What's the OS you're using? Vista or 7?

To find the specs in windows 7 just go to control panel and in the search bar type in "Specs". The relevant page should pop up.

That's good. If you can give me roughly 30 minutes I can tell you how to find the specs using windows 7. I'm at work on XP and I don't remember the name of the system program.

Or you can download this little guy and it will tell you what processor and ram you have:

Yes......and it would be best to do a fresh install. (Wipe out vista and install windows 7) All you need to do is go out and buy a copy of windows 7 as long as your PC can run it....and if it can run vista, it will run windows 7 a lot better.

These days installing a new operating system is way easier than it used to be. Although I've not done Windows 7 before I guess it would be an easy installation procedure.

Have a look at this google I'm feeling lucky hit:-

One is used by people who don't know any better.

The other - whoops, my bad. They're the same.

Ebay also usually has pirated copies of software that won't activate properly. I'd be sure I am getting a legal copy......buy from a reputable source, even if its a few extra $$

X2 - pirated MS stuff is a waste of time - you might get it to work but you'd have to be pretty nifty at getting up dates.
