For a week I have listened to the yammerers on the right taking the NAACP to task for calling elements inside the Tea Party "racists". How dare they, they said, there is not a racist bone in our body. Well, turns out that is not the case, one of the three major Tea Party factions, and the one most heavily supported by Fox News, has been booted out of their "Federation" on the grounds of overt racism and continually racist statements by it's founder directed at blacks, Latinos and Muslims. So I guess, and this is now according to other Tea Partyists themselves, there are racists in the Tea Party after all. Isn't it time for Limbaugh, Hannity and the rest of the screamers to admit they were wrong and the NAACP has a point? The Tea Party is a haven for hate and prejudice.

You must be proud! And all NAACP racists must also be proud! Explicitly treating people differently on the basis of their skin color is the "opposite of a racist"! Yeah! Yeah! That's right, the opposite of a racist! Talk about denial!

OTOH, TEA Party needs to chuck associations with anybody who is a foolish hater. Their message spans race and other demographics and has room for everybody. That is why the left is trying so very hard to destroy it.

The tea party doesn't need the left for that, it will destroy it self.

She confessed her formerly racist attitude and used the story to try to teach people not to do what she did.If I could claim credit for her speech, I would indeed be proud, but I didn't have anything to do with it.That's not what I said. There are racists on both sides of the spectrum, affiliated with both political parties and organizations. Why does this surprise anyone, and why is it news? Is it right? NO, but is it a reality? Yes. People are barred by their (often absurd) prejudices regardless of what position they are in. I see this thread going downhill fast....
