cellphone for a porsche

Interesting--not the headline but that a 10 yr old model Porsche is going for 10 grand. I cant really see these being forsaken like a 914 so--is the bottom of their depreciation curve?? better watch and wait to see.

Yeah, older Porkys seem to settle around 10k.

Even early ones from the 60s and 70s settle around there.

With that being said, early ones are awesome to drive.... Provided you can prevent the ass from snapping around while going through a corner! Been there done that.

And also - whats wrong with a 914? They are small, but they are an amazing drivers car, with A LOT of potential.... 1800lbs!

I once spun my friends 74 911 at about 80 coming out of the long corner at Nelsons Ledges in OH, driving those things requires some skill.

I still have a 73 914 all over my garage waiting for me to spend some time on it. Much easier to toss around than a 911.

Would love to have a 914 2.0. Pré 1974 911's where getting pretty pricey before the recession hit the ad agency's.

Mine is an original 2.0 with webers and a cam. Someone was auto crossing it, so it's been lowered, has very short gears, and has very high rate springs. It's basically a go cart now. It needs a bunch of little stuff and paint, I just haven't taken the time to play with it.

I have a 914 with a Chevy 327 in it, supposed to be 400HP but i have not dynoed it yet. Gives it a bit more thrust than factory.....and not a whole lot heavier either.

914's What I know about them, not very much--I just did a search and fond some DID have the porsche flat 6, anyway- ever since I have been driving I have seen them sitting around "forsaken" outside with tree sap covering them and this was not the case with any 911 --or 912.

The 914 is a pure drivers car. Very very small and light, the 2 things to make a perfect handling car. Its one of my favorite porsches of all time, right on par with the classic 911 as well as the 930. If I do not go AMG for my next car, more than likely it will be a 914.

The 912 is fun, but IMHO your better off getting a 911. They are about the same price, and have more to offer.

What are you looking for? Sounded like a Boxster from your earlier posts, but now sounds like an old 911.... ?

I was just surprised to see the price of the decade old boxters, If I had a spare live I would prolly get involved in porsches but I have too many auto intrests already--Still -that said the 10 yr old boxter seems to be the easy way in instead of having to get involved in restoring or partially restoring an old air cooled 911, after doing several early Camaro convertibles--I will stick with late thirties trucks if I want to rebuild something (I can even use a 617 If I ever get that bell housing happening) But it does seem that the boxters have engine issues--overheating/blown and the rebuilt engines can go for as much as a running car.

Basicly, yes. They were both the cheapest car available at the time and they both didn't really hold their value very long. They also tend to get beat up because of the type of owners that bought them new.
