Crews painted "shcool" on the approach road to Southern Guilford High School.

The road had been recently repaved and crews were working to mark out the school zones.

The company which was responsible said it had "made a mistake" and it would be fixed. A spokesperson said the paint was "interim paint" that is used before the final paint is applied.

That is embarrassing, but let he who has never sent out anything with a typo cast the first stone.

People often misspell the name of my county, which seems to have an extra vowel that people tend to miss. A few years ago, some workers installed a new sign for the county office building across the street from my office. The sign had the same misspelling. I approached the crew and asked whether they saw anything unusual about the sign. The words were hardly out of my mouth before the crew chief spotted the error. He said a four-letter word starting with "s" and ending with "t" and started taking the sign down. That typo was not as embarrassing as "shcool", but it is says something about the proof-reading process that it had gone through several sets of eyes before anyone spotted it.

Look like it's splled right to me.

Possibly. When you insist on dragging those that cannot make it, all they do is slow down the group and not let the slow ones be weeded out so everybody is slower but nobody is left behind.
