Feisal Abdul Rauf

There seem to be quite a few folks here who want to know more about the man and his plan. Here are a couple links to actual interviews, with his words accurately reported, in context.

Interesting reading. Thanks! In the pbs interview, seems to me he really hedged his bets a few times, particularly in his answers to the questions about women's issues. On the other hand, his clarification of why he would reach out to Islamist extremist groups makes sense.

Are transcripts the same as a blogger's op ed piece? Please explain. I suppose an "edited" transcript may qualify, but is that the situation here?

You quoted/linked to a blog- that had an interview. You were rightly called out on that one after your previous post. You sure needed an asterisk on that source so as not look like a hypocrite. You did not do so, and thus you were called out. Case closed. Get over it and learn so you don't do that again.

Clearly, the transcript in this case is an addendem to the blogger's editorializing which precedes it.

“Since speaking with Imam Feisal Abdul Rauf on July 16 about the Muslim community center to be built in lower Manhattan, it has been painful to watch the national dialogue around this issue deteriorate into misinformation, hysteria and fear of Islam.
Imam Rauf has been overseas and not able to readily answer questions of the media, so the rhetoric from individuals like Sarah Palin, Newt Gingrich and others who share their views has continued to distort the real issue at hand. Not all Muslims are terrorists, and the actions of terrorists are certainly not Islamic. This point must be realized if the conversation is ever to elevate beyond these harmful sound bites. It is my sincere hope that by releasing this audio recording and transcript of our recent conversation, those who honestly seek understanding about the Islamic center and the good leaders behind it will find it.”

I’ll defer to your supposition:

Bull****. Said in post 1 - links to actual interviews, thereby making the interviews the topic/source of this thread, regardless of the path taken to the text of the interview. Maybe you should focus your attention on researching your untenable position in some other threads before you expose yourself in another one.

The interview is available as an unedited audio stream as well.

Did the link lead to part of a blog and the blogger's view which also included the interview? Then "yes" you were a hypocrite. If "no" then you are not. Don't get your undies in a bunch.

I can walk and chew gum at the same time. Personal insults that have nothing to do with the topic at hand belittle only yourself.

What you really meant was "all threads with blogs as their source" except when those threads that use blogs as their source which contain edited interviews that support the bloggers editorializing which in the future I may use!

I'm not surprised that you react the way you do, your defect has been exposed by your own words and you are hurt by me bring attention to it.

Calling someone a name you hope will be hurtful is often the only retort of lesser intellect, fortunately I have grown up with a firm belief in the age old axiom "sticks and stones may break my bone, but words will never hurt me".

whoops none here. Ya wanna start a game of who has not answered more questions? Do you really think there is a winner in that game? Could you be any more childish/moronic with the sticking out tongue? There! that's my questions you get to not answer.
