Not at all, I didn't think that people was old until they started getting mail from the AARP people. Hey Guys/Gals, your only as old as you feel you are.

I started getting my AARP invitations this year.

I'm married to this wonderful young lady:

That's pretty good for a 55-year-old.

Jim, you should feel very old or very young, not sure which. Now you have to get a picture of her in the dress her friend brought her for her birthday.
I am 55. I still have most of my hair, but I admit it is mostly grey (somehow that spelling feels better?).

During my career in the oil biz I have been in on the inside of a lot of what many people would consider very big deals. I met Kings and Heads of States; made a lot of multi-million dollar decisions...

One day the CEO came into our area, which was the most secure in the Company, while he was waiting for some big wheel or another to show up. He asked us what our biggest problems were in life which we thought was weird since it was if he was admitting we had a life outside of the company.

So we gave him our standard answer. "We are all still trying to figure out what we want to be when we grow up!"

And now that I am retired I am still asking myself this question.

I just got done carding over (It seems like more than this) 2,000 folks for a 3-day festival...working the beer tent and keeping non-bikers from entering the bike bin.

Asking a person to "Smile!" and watching the corner of their eyes is about 99.999% good enough to let 'em in since VERY FEW 21s and younger have the lines that show the grace and experience...even though, some don't show either and they're old enough.

I, obviously, was queried back about my age a few times...I'd have them look and guess how old they thought I was. Everytime (over 12 times...then I just quit counting...) they were off by under 9 years. I only WISHED I felt as young as I looked! I didn't head into work on Monday 'cause my feet felt like I had a thousand pins in the soles and the calves of my legs were cramping like a SOB!

I may end up being better looking dead and finally feeling the way I should for the situation I'm in!
