Epson Scanner question/ parts

I have an Epson 2450 Photo scanner. The transparency illuminator that is built into the lid appears to have died. ( No light; not even the "ready" light. and yes, the cable is plugged in)
I have tried searching, but can't find a USA parts supplier.
Can anyone suggest a replacement?

That scanner is nearly 10 years old. You're not going to have any luck with replacement parts other than through ebay. Most likely the cathode lamp or the lamp ballast have failed. Not a lot you can do.

I'm sorry to say that mostly it turns out to be cheaper or only possible to just buy a new machine. Frustrating I know as most parts look like they cost only a few cents - printers don't seem to be supported like washing machines!

Printers and scanners have come a long way in 10 years, not so much with your average washer. (excluding the super fancy stuff)

I have an old Epson scanner that I have not used in years. I don't remember the model number, but I can check it tomorrow, It has a slot for 35mm slides built into the cover. I'm guessing maybe that is what you meant by transparency. You are welcome to it if you want it, however, due to out of town work commitments, it may be some time before I can ship it.

Edit: Mine is a model 1260. Probably not compatible with yours. You can have it if you want it, but it's really not much of a scanner. I retired it several years ago.
