The "I hate unpacking after a move" thread
The move is over. Went pretty smoothly for the most part. The movers were really nice and professional. Longest day I have ever had for a while.
Boxes are every where. We have to finish fixing up the rent house (the one we moved out of) before we start to really work in this one. I just really hate this but at least the move is done. Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh

I don't mind the unpacking part, I just hate having to move my stuff in prior to working on the new place. Then, you're having to move stuff around all the time to keep it out of your way. That's what I'm doing now.

Being the type who holds onto things my recent move purged a great deal of junk and usless items. Although I marked all the boxes, finding stuff after the move got frustrating at times. The worst part was I could not locate my Lesney Matchbox toy collection for months. Eventually I found the boxes hidden in a guest room dresser, the movers thought that was a safe place but neglected to tell me.

In that respect it can be like Christmas morning when you find those boxes you've been searching for. I'm trying to find the three (odd-sized) screws I need to attach my router to the underside of my router table. I need that to be able to make the rest of the moulding so I can finish my new bookcases . . . .
Everything seems like a multi-stage project.
