My brother just joined the MB family!

We went to look at it earlier today and it was in great shape.

1990 Mercedes 190 - 2.6 liter, 5 speed manual

We have to go pick it up in a day or two and then go over it and make sure it's ready to be his daily driver. We'll get better pics after we get it home and clean it up.

Mathias08 and I had a brief conversation about that Mazda at the meet. The front is debadged and looking at it, I had absolutely no idea what it was (I thought it was a Toyota....) Yeah, I guess its just that bland

A manual trans 2.6 should be really quick. Looks like a nice ride!

That is the part that makes me nervous. Why is it weak? Compressor issue? Leak? R134 or R12?

Did you check for codes that might not be showing up? When was the head gasket last done? What is the compression like? Is it even and on the upper end?

134 conversion, AC blows cool not cold. I don't remember when the head gasket was done, but the car was dealer serviced up until 6 months ago when they stopped driving it. There is a folder about 3 inches thick with detailed service invoices up to the last service less than a year ago.

I didn't check the compression, but based on what I saw, heard and felt, the engine seemed fine.

He's taking it to a local garage for state inspection and they'll give it a complete looking over and let us know if there's anything we missed.

A m103 mated to 5 speed is tough to find, that car will be a lot of fun!

You got bigger stones than me. When I buy a used car, I read up on it and appear with my scantool and compression tester. If they bring it to me, I have a borrowed AC leak detector and a leakdown gauge handy. I learned the hard way.
