Very, very cool. That looks smiler to the original mecha that was a prototype in Fullmetal Panic, which is a 7 year old series now. Its amazing how reality can catch up to fantasy.

Watch they are the next tank, in 100 years. I want one with anti gravity float wings like Zero has.:D

Right now it seems to be the equal of a very smart forklift. Nothing wrong with that, of course.

I can see a lot of civilian uses for this as well.

Somebody must have told Raytheon it could not be done, so they just went ahead and did it.

The technology is still in its infancy. Right now its not much better than a little fork lift, actually a fork lift would be cheaper so much better in a practical sense.

But like the airplane in 1903 or the tank in 1918 it has a long way to go. Tanks have a lot of limitations which something like this could address. Fullmetal Panic was interesting because the pilot sat in a cockpit that was essentially and evolution of that suit, except for moving the arms they moved a 30ft tall suit with some cool weapons and speed.

I can definitely see this is use for logistics and say gunners but not front line use for a very long time. The main issue is going to be power. It doesn't make much sense dragging wires behind you and current battery tech doesn't stand a chance.

Battery's are lame, we need the spinning cube thing!:D

I could see this being useful on aircraft carriers for the crews that load the ordinance manually onto the planes.

Never saw that one predates me, Gundam?

Looks like a variation of the Loader that Sigorney Weaver wore in Aliens, which is a for real tool having seen one in use at a Steel Casting facility.
Problems I see are:
1) Power Supply-Kool Tool until you run out of power cord!
2) No Body Armor-Works great until someone puts a few rounds thru you!
3) Battlefield Cleanliness - Like the M16A1 they gave us in 'Nam, if it cannot live in an
unclean environemnt it ain't worth squat!
4) Aqua Terrain Environments - Think about using this to ford a stream with a depth over your head!
