Boosting wireless signal in laptops
Is there a way to boost the signal receptivity in laptops? there's solutions for desktop computers however since I have to "Borrow" internet, my signal is lousy and there's times that I just cant get signal, anyone know of a way?

Get a card with an exterior antenna connection. Then look at the "700' wifi" thread for some ideas.

the only ones with antennas are usually PCMCIA types that I've seen here, but this computer dosn't have a PCM bus.

I haven't done business with them, but in the "700' Wifi" thread, there is a link to a seller with a USB access point that uses an external antenna. I'm sure that others exist.
Otherwise, you can get a wireless ethernet to wired ethernet bridge, and just plug in with a wire. It's easy to find a wireless bridge that has an external antenna. Or you can buy a repeater. |
