Damn treat o treaters! Someone vandalized my car!
I woke up to my passengerside streaked with a permenant marker!
Needless to say I'm pissed! I soaked a rag with car wash soap because I had no clue what to use without damaging car paint. I was able to rubb the lightest streaks off but the streak is the length of the car. I'm thinking WD40 or Isoprophy alcohol since I have them in the house. Are those safe for car paint? If not what can I use? I want that marker streak OFF! We give these little *****s candies and this is how they repay us?

To be fair, it sounds like it was one little chit and who knows if he even knocked on your door.
As far as the marker is concerned, you can use paint thinner. Just make sue you reapply your wax as the paint thinner will strip that off.

Yeah man, at this point I guess I would be glad that they did not use a metallic object to make the mark.
Permanent marker is easy to remove, just do what has already been said and re-wax after you get the marker off the car. I recommend Purell for the painted surface and acetone if on glass.

Yeah, I'm fortunate that it wasn't keyed. Still, it annoys me that people would do something like that--and for what?
I know I can't blame all the people who dropped by. Could have been some kids out for "fun." I'm deathly afraid to try paint thinner, and besides I don't have any laying around. Will WD40 be safe or what about Goo Gone? I plan to stop by Pep Boys and see what they have. Btw, this wasn't on a Benz. It's a silver Honda, so the marker sticks out.

Can't you just use a polish to buff it off? Clay bar after wash? I wouldn't take paint thinner to my car.

If you don't fancy the other suggestions brake cleaner might help - it is at least less aggressive than thinner...

Maybe I'll try the swirl remover or maybe even those scratch remover compound.
Pep Boys didn't have anything specific to removing perm marker from car paint. I've never used a clay bar before. Man, this is just one big inconvenience and a hassle. I'm glad it wasn't anything permenant, but it irks me and now I will view all the kids or adults around my neighborhood with suspicion. I mean it's not a bad hood. Maybe they just saw a "new" car and thought they piss the owner off. I'm pissed all right, but also sad about the way people are.

looool.
i was pulling the oilpan off the SL600 (long strory lol) and some trick o treaters came by.... didnt have any candy so gave them some random nuts and bolts.... they didnt seem to appreciate it.

Give Purell a try, it sounds crazy, but give it a go if you can.
Expect society to get a lot worse over time, things are not set to improve anytime soon.

May I suggest moving to a better neighborhood? That or going out on Halloween. Go wander around Lowe's for a couple of hours. Or the corner tappie
Problem I have with halloween is that cars roll up and out come kids that live miles away and only come to your subdivision because it's safe, it's probably more "fertile territory" than most and you can hit a lot of houses quickly then move on to the next subdivision.... like locusts.
