Don't forget the firefighters fee
The local fire dept watched as a house burned to the ground because the $75 fee had not been paid.
Ron Paul would be proud. http://www.indyposted.com/114773/tennessee-firefighters-watch-house-burn-down-owners-didnt-pay-subscription-fee/ |
Why would Ron Paul be proud?

Heck, one poster here questioned the value of the FDA. |
Was the house in question paying property taxes at the time to the local municipality which funded the fire department?
|
It appears that the area that this house was located does not have a fire department. The neighboring town does have a fire department, and they extended their services to the town without one via an optional $75 monthly or yearly fee (it is not clear).

We have a similar situation here where I reside. The fire and rescue squad is funded and staffed on a voluntary basis. Most residents give a donation to both, but service is never withheld if no donation has been made. The fire company charges a $500 fee to answer a call and that is payed by my homeowners insurance. |
Well it sounds like this municipality needs to change there policy, I hardly see what this has to do with Ron Paul.

Apparently, some people can’t just leave a story what it is, and have to make a political statement with it. |

How do feel about firefighters standing bye while a man's house burns down? That was part of my original post but you and others seem to think the politics are more important. |
