No surprise which is number 1 but i'm a bit surprised that Boston didn't make the list....

more confirmation that the country is going down the toilet. there is no niceness left, it has degenerated into self-serving jerks who only care about themselves and are out to get you. the one about the Minneapolis driver ramming the other driver is particularly disturbing.

In my experience with Boston drivers (a few Sox games/year, a couple trade shows/year, and 2-3 personal trips there/year) it isn't so much road rage, it's just the general recklessness. Maybe they just expect it and know they'll do the same thing to someone else so they don't get all riled up when someone cuts them off or passes them at the last second?

The Atlanta pic cracks me up.

for more on the Atlanta experience, be sure and catch the History Channel's show "Gangland". people in Atlanta are living the Stevie Ray Vaughn song, "Caught in the Crossfire". not good.

My parents circum(navigated?) the U.S. with their camper last year and my father was amazed with the drivers through the outskirts of MN, the Dakota's, MT, WY and ID. He said people stayed in the right lane unless they were passing. When there was a "Lane Closed Ahead" everyone merged into the open lane, often miles ahead, eliminating the "inch-worm" effect caused by a-holes passing right up until the very last second and slamming on the brakes. It might be that there's nowhere to go there so no one is in a hurry or, more likely, the a-hole drivers from the coasts haven't infected those areas enough quite yet.

good to know. hopefully the a-hole drivers on the east and west coasts will remain where they are.

I drove in New York 2 years ago. I thought it was less stressful there than driving in San Antonio.

Absolutely. I really cannot agree that New York is the capital of road rage. Drivers there don't have the time to invest in proper rage. Rather, you see a lot of convenience venting on other drivers, but not rage. Honking, one finger salutes, well timed epithets, these are not rage. Deliberately hitting someone else's car, following them for miles out of your way, getting out of the vehicle to confront the other driver, anything involving weapons.... these are actions of road rage. Inconsiderate, impatient, opportunistic, all hold true for those cities, but for real maniacal rage, I think you need to move further inland....

Pretty much. I've never really had any issues driving in Manhattan...the boroughs are certainly interesting but I always brace myself before I head into Boston.

I driven extensively in a lot of those cities, and I am a native of the Boston area. While Boston drivers are notoriously rude, in Dallas, Houston and Atlanta, the rage lunatics will kill you with an automatic weapon, just a slight difference I know, but a difference none the less. Now, where did I put that 30 round clip for my M-1 Carbine? I have to go to Dallas.....

Like everyone else here, I am mystified at the New York pick.

Dude, I've driven in the DC area, and I can tell you, DFW and Atlanta are a whole different world.

I'm amazed Las Vegas isn't on there, the roads there are lunatic asylums.

I always thought Boston was pretty wild as far as drivers not paying attention or just plowing ahead without looking . . . Do they actually have traffic laws in Boston?
