Question on bypass air pump in 300CE
Am in S.Texas and have a 1990 300CE -104 motor-24 valves (104.980).
My air pump has gone bad and have removed and want to bypass it. What size belt fits in this vehicle w/o air pump? I tried 2257mm but it is short. Any help would be great. thanks |

This really belongs in the tech help section.
Why not just replace the bearing in the pump if it's shot (that's really the only part that tends to go bad)? The bearing can be had fairly cheap, as I recall. I did the one on my M103 and it was like a new pump.

Air pump question
yes, you are right about replacing the bearing in the pulley of this air pump. Have ordered it already.
Just wanted to know, that in case there was a problem with the pump itself then what length belt would fit. The OE belt is 2445. I tried 2257 was way too short. The other one might try is 2415 and see if it fits, in case I have to. |
